Ruohan Wang is a Chinese artist that was raised in Berlin, Germany. Being born in China and raised in Germany definitely introduced her to a unique and culturally-enriched upbringing. With the help from Nike, she delivered some exceptional designs on some classic Nike silhouettes. It is also worth mentioning that Flyleather is incorporated in the construction of these sneakers. Flyleather is a material that is made with at least 50% recycled leather.
The collaboration includes arguably Nike’s most iconic silhouettes. The Air Force 1, Blazer Mid ’77, and Air Max 90 were all lucky enough to be graced by Ruohan Wang’s imagination. All of them feature the same theme and color scheme. They are full of life and color with interesting cartoons to still keep the design light and fun.
The concept of the design seems tacky and childish but it couldn’t be further from that. While the cartoons do add a bit of youth to them, the white Nike swooshes and soles provide a formal finish.

Of course, just like any other release on SNKRS, expect this release to sell out within a few seconds. My personal favorite from the collaboration is the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 ‘Ruohan Wang’ because I think the Blazer silhouette is the perfect canvas for a colorful design. The Air Max 90 would be my second favorite from the pack.
