The Battle for the American League looks close but who has the advantage going into the season?

Well it looks like we are going to have the New York Yankees vs the Houston Astros in the ALCS for the third time in four years. The first two meetings led to the Astros being victorious, one of them being controversially won during Trash-Gate in 2017. Nonetheless, they did win officially.

This year there will be a different ending to the story. The Ventric is predicting that the New York Yankees will beat out the Houston Astros in the ALCS. Even though the Astros do have Justin Verlander and Zack Greinke, we believe Gerrit Cole, Masahiro Tanaka, and J.A. Happ will be able to hold their own against them, especially considering the power hitters that the Yankees have.

Yankees Edge Out the Astros

And, to bring up Trash-Gate 2017 again, the Yankees will have a little extra motivation to make sure that the ending to this series is different than the previous 2 encounters.

The ALCS between these two teams should be fairly close and will probably head to 6 or 7 games so there is the chance that the Astros can come out victorious.

How Twins Can Compete for the AL Pennant

The team that can come between both of these teams before making it to the ALCS are the Twins. They have a deep lineup and excellent pitching but they tend to get overshadowed in conversations about the elite in the American League. They do not have that natural star and market that both the Houston Astros and New York Yankees have. Houston is a big city with Verlander and Altuve, then you have New York with Judge, Stanton, and Cole.

The Rays have their work cut out for them too since they will have to go up against the Yankees, Braves, and Nationals. The key there being that they are inter-league series against the Braves and Nationals so there will be fewer games against those teams.

The Twins can very well be in the ALCS this year but well most likely see the 3rd edition of the New York Yankees vs Houston Astros saga in 4 years. And with the history between these two teams over recent years, it’s sure to be a good one.
