After a long wait, the 2020 Champions League final is set to be played on August 23, 2020 at noon PT. There is a clear favorite going into the match but it is sure to be a fun one either way.

FC Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich are clicking at the right time. They have scored 15 goals in their last three matches including Barcelona and Chelsea. And, even though Bayern Munich definitely gave Lyon the early chances in the game, Lyon did not capitalize and Bayern Munich put them away rather easily.

Also in those last 3 games, they have only allowed 3 goals. However, that number is definitely miss leading. They dominated Chelsea but the games against Barcelona and Lyon tell a slightly different story.

Against Barcelona, they looked weak at the back line for the first 30 minutes. Their high line left them vulnerable on quick attacks but Barcelona didn’t capitalize on some of those chances. Even if they would have scored on those chances, Bayern would have still taken them out.

But against Lyon, they were struggling to contain Depay but they missed some clear cut chances. After the first 20 minutes of Lyon dominating, they appeared to lose their confidence on the ball so Bayern took advantage and controlled the game after that.

Paris Saint-Germaine

Paris Saint-Germaine also look like their finding their stride at the perfect time. They definitely struggled against a mediocre side in Atalanta but they looked strong against Leipzig.

So how is the game going to go? Well Bayern Munich are heavy favorites. I don’t see a way that Paris Saint-Germaine can come out on top but they can surely make it interesting.

If we are going to take the last two games of Bayern Munich as a sort of guideline for what is going to happen in the final, then we’re going to get an open game. Paris Saint-Germaine have clinical finishers at the top so expect them to convert the chances that Atalanta and Barcelona couldn’t.

Well I’m predicting 4 – 2 in favor of Bayern Munich. One thing is for sure, there should be a lot of goals.
