Dodgers June Schedule Preview and Predictions

3

The Dodgers have a relatively tough schedule ahead of them in June. They find themselves 2 games back from the first place Giants in the NL West. Cody Bellinger is back in the lineup and looking for everyday playing time now. Gonsolin is on pace to finish his rehab assignment in the minors next week.

Road trip early on for the Dodgers in June

The Dodgers start the month by finishing off a 3 game series against the Cardinals. Then they go on the road to take on the Braves for 3 games and then the Pirates for another 3 games. The Braves are currently in second place in the NL East with a 25-26 record and the Pirates are strong contenders for being the worst team in the majors with a 20-33 record.

They will then come back home to host the Rangers and the Phillies for 3 games apiece. The Rangers are battling the Angels for last place in the AL West with a 22-33 record. Bryce Harper and the Phillies should be a great series as they are looking to close the gap between them and the first place Mets in the NL East.

Promotions for June 11th through 16th

The Dodgers will host LGBTQ+ Pride Night on Friday, June 11th where they will offer a ticket add-on that includes a Pride LA shirt. Then they have a Justin Turner Bobblehead scheduled on Tuesday, June 15th and Mookie Betts Jersey on Wednesday, June 16th against the Phillies.

After that, they will head off to a local NL West road trip where they will visit Phoenix and San Diego for 3 games each. In their previous encounter, the Dodgers were able to sweep the Diamondbacks in a 4 game series. The series against the Padres will mark the first time that these divisional rivals have faced each other since late April when the Padres won 3 of 4 in Los Angeles. Of course, many of you remember that series vividly. This series will definitely be the most anticipated matchup in the month of June for the Dodgers.

Dodgers host Cubs and Giants to end the month

The Dodgers will then make the short trip home to Los Angeles to host the Cubs for 4 games and Giants for 2 games. The Cubs currently have a slim lead in the NL Central and are owners of a 30-23 record. The series against the Giants will come almost an entire month after they handed the Dodgers 3 losses in 4 games in Los Angeles. Giants are currently in first place of the NL West so it should be a very exciting series to end the month of June.

The Dodgers will have a Cody Bellinger MVP Bobblehead giveaway and Friday Night Fireworks when they take on the Cubs on June 24th and 25th. Then they will have a snapback hat and Max Muncy Bobblehead giveaway when they take on the Giants on June 28th and 29th.

June predictions for the Dodgers

Despite the relatively tough schedule for the Dodgers coming up in June, they are due to get Tony Gonsolin back in the rotation in the second week of June. His inclusion will mean that the overworked, and inconsistent at times, bullpen will get some much needed rest. Because of that, I expect the Dodgers to be dominant in June. Their record should be somewhere along the lines of 17-9 for the month of June.
